• He was a revolutionary soldier served in Georgia troops; he was granted 287 1/2 acres in Washington Co, GA on 26 June 1785, and was a deacon in the Baptist church on Buffalo Creek in Washington Co.; he owned land in Greene Co, GA in 1787.
• Will of Jones County, Georgia
• Eland, Absolem, Jones Co, GA -- will written July 26, 1812; probated Aug 1, 1814. Bequeaths entire estate to beloved wife, Nancy. Witnessed by Thomas Rainey, Stephen Eiland; attested in probation by Hugh M. Comer. In settlement of estate, Nancy Eiland gave property to her heirs by Absolem Eiland: James Island (Eiland), Asa Absolem Eiland, Levi D. Eiland, Stephen Eiland, son-in-law James Felts; daughters Nancy Wilson and Elizabeth Thompson.
• December 2, 1808, David and Mary Jameson, his wife, of Baldwin Co, GA. sold to Absalom Eiland of same county for $350.00, 202 and a half acres, Lot 41; recorder Jones Co, GA.
